Ronny Bijnens

I am Ronny Bijnens, born in Zutendaal in 1955. My father taught me the love for drawing from childhood. A little while ago I took some lessons in oil-painting by a local artist Jozef Housen, an exceptionally talented painter in snowscapes. He and his wife Roza encouraged me to follow the same road. Without his tips and advice I wouldn't be where I am now in  this short time. In my anthropomorphic portraits I always try to attain the personality of the human with the character and dignity of the dog's head. It are neither dogs with a human body nor humans with a dog's head. It are creatures out of a phantasy-world, self-assured aristocrats with an intense emanation and a strong personality. I leave it to you to judge if I accomplish in that goal!
